We all know about the fight to have food companies tell the public EXACTLY what is in the food sitting on groceries shelves BEFORE we buy it. Well Monsanto is spending MILLIONS to make sure the public stays clueless about the genetically modified foods they are pushing everywhere.

Large companies and organizations such as the Grocery Manufacturers Association and PepsiCo have already donated large sums of money to the “No on 37” campaign, fighting against California’s Proposition 37, state legislation that would require labeling of genetically modified ingredients in food products.
To date, twenty five million dollars has already been contributed, with twenty three million of that coming in just this past week. Californians are will be voting on Proposition 37 in November.
As it is only a few months away, corporations that make big profit off of genetically engineered products are donating big bucks with efforts to block ingredient transparency for their customers.
The newest and largest donation toward blocking GM labeling was reported on Wednesday, totaling 4.2 million dollars from none other than Monsanto Co. Monsanto is a member of the “Big 6”, a group of pesticide companies including Dow, BASF, Bayer, Syngenta and DuPont, and has already given 13.5 million dollars to “No on 37”.
Stacy Malkan, media director for ‘California Right to Know” commented on the large contributions stating, “The giant pesticide and food companies are afraid of the mothers and grandmothers who want the right to know what’s in our food. These companies will try to buy the election, but it won’t work. California moms and dads will prevail over Monsanto and DuPont.”
